Commererzbank-Arena was originally called Waldstadion which means “Forest Stadium”.  After the initial opening of the stadium in 1925, the stadium was upgraded many times.
 The most recent being for 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2006 FIFA World Cup. Unlike some other stadiums, the Commerzbank Stadium is a “Football Only” stadium; however, there are instances of concert of Madonna, the Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, U2, Genesis and Bon Jovi. International German Gymnastics Festival has also been organized. It is among the Ten biggest stadiums in Germany with a crowd capacity of 51,500 fans.
The stadium is owned by the City Authorities. Besides football, the facility has a Swimming Pool, a Tennis Complex, a Beach Volley Ball Court and an indoor Arena for Winter Sports. The stadium is well connected with Rail route as the stadium has its own Railway Station.
The Commerzbank Arena is the home ground to the Eintracht Frankfurt and the team has its offices in the Arena as well.
