Borussia Mönchengladbach, the Bundesliga team enjoys this stadium as their home ground. The architect of the new stadium is PlanungsgruppeBl..The facility has replaced the much smaller and not so well equipped Bökelberg-Stadion. The old stadium could not meet the international standards and safety measures.
The new stadium has the ability to accommodate 54067 fans of which 16145 can only stand. These standing arrangements are temporary and are converted into temporary seats in case of International matches. The seating capacity is reduced to 46, 249 when International matches are played.
