The Runners up of 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Brazil is definitely in race for the World’s biggest and the most desired trophy, “the World Cup”. With players like Andreia, Cristiane, Formiga, Barbara and Marta who has been FIFA player of the year Five Consecutive times, the Samba Girls can dream of winning the World Cup. 12 of the 21 players announced to play at the 2011 World Cup were part of the 2007 World Cup Squad which was Runners Up. They for sure would give more than 100% to win the Championship and better their last World Cup record.
Currently ranked third, the Samba Girls were Runner up in the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. The Brazilian team is in Group ‘D’ and will compete with Norway, Australia and Guinea. They open their World Cup Campaign with the Australians on 29th June 2011 in Moenchengladbach.
