"The Nationalelf"

Germany, the winner of the last two editions of the Women’s World Cup (2003 and 2007), has the eye on the 2011 World Cup which starts on the 26th of June where Germany would take on Canada in their opening encounter. This World Cup is special for the German side for more than one reason. If they win this edition of the World Cup, which they would love to, would be their 3rd World Cup in a row and the World Cup will be played on their home soil.

It is a wonderful opportunity for Silvia Neid, German Coach to create history by winning the 3rd successive World Cup, where she would be the Coach for 2 World Cups (2007 and 2011). The current World Cup Squad of 21 players, there are 13 players from the 2007 World Cup Winning team. With players of the likes of Birgit Prinz, Nadine Angerer (Who did not concede even a single goal in the 2007 World Cup), Inka Grings, Alexandra Popp and Kim KULIG there is little doubt in the minds of the team and the fans as to who would lift the prestigious Global Cup in Germany.

The German team is entering the World Cup with Four wins from Four matches with a goal difference of 15-0 in the warm ups and that for sure will be a big morale booster for the team. The team must be bubbling with confidence to start their World Cup 2011 campaign on a winning note and defend their World Cup title.
